1. HEALTH PROMOTION OFFICER NQF L 3
DESCRIPTION
- The course was developed in support of the national strategy, to deliver quality Primary Health to all citizens of the country. It falls under health professionals and is included in the NHI.
- Purpose being to prevent and minimize the spread of diseases, treatment of dread diseases, including adherence to treatment.
DURATION
- The course duration is 9-12months including theory and workplace experience.
JOB OPPORTUNITIES
- Major employment is under the Department of Health
- Health centers, clinics, hospitals, old age homes etc.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- NQF L 2
- GRADES 10-12
2. Occupational Health and Safety Practitioner NQF L 5
DESCRIPTION
- The course is designed as a link between employees of industries, companies and different workplaces regarding health and safety and management in the workplace.
- It includes the inspection, records and investigation of incidents, accidents, and ensures that occupational health and safety needs of employees are prioritized and dealt with.
DURATION
The course duration is 18 months, includes theory and workplace experience.
JOB OPPORTUNITIES
- Work as an OHS Practitioner
- Inspection of buildings, companies etc.
- May be employed in various companies
- As an assessor and Facilitator and train Safety and Health Employee representatives
- Assistance to managers to investigate accidents and incidents in various workplaces including contraction companies.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- NQF L 4
- GRADE 12
3. SEWING MACHINE OPERATOR
DESCRIPTION
The course is designed to reduce unemployment in the country, it is a skill that can develop and train individuals the skill of making clothes, and various fashion designs. Knowledge of the operation, of the sewing machine.
DURATION
- The duration is 4 – 6months

4. FOUNDATION LEARNING COMPETENCY NQF L 2
DESCRIPTION
- The course is intended to improve mathematics literacy and Communication
DURATION
The duration is one to two months

4. Community Health Care
DESCRIPTION
The primary responsibilities of community health workers may include:
- treating minor illnesses
- looking after the elderly and caring for children
- promotion of sanitation and hygiene
screening for communicable diseases - performing health education activities
